Andy has always maintained a passion for technology in the aviation and defence sector, working with UK Government departments, large Primes, and smaller technology companies to bring capability to the end user. This work has included capability requirements management, strategic sales campaigning, leading bids, presenting options to Government Ministers, and bringing expertise to discussion panels, workshops and wargames.
Andy spent nearly 4 years working in one of the Big Four, initially as a Chief of Staff, then as a member of the Resilience and Crisis Management team, helping clients from a range of industry sectors prepare for, respond to, and recover from, serious incidents and crisis.
His early career was dominated by 24 years in the Royal Air Force as a pilot, instructor, supervisor and examiner. He operated fast jet aircraft in operational and training environments. His experience also included leading specialist teams as small as 2 people, to large cross-functional teams of 500 to 2000 people. His insight to operating under extreme pressure in difficult conditions has proven extremely valuable in business and industry.
